Updates to the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program - Block 5 of the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program will open in early January with new incentive levels. The program will continue to provide a rebate for the first 5 kW of commercial projects (with the nameplate capacity capped at 10 kW), and the first 5 kW of residential projects (with no size cap). Therefore, the maximum available rebate will be $1.70 per watt. This rebate change allows us to provide funding for more installations while maintaining rebates at a level sufficient to make solar an affordable option for Massachusetts residents and small businesses.

Good news for Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant customers!
HMLP will offer a rebate in the form of a credit on the bills of customers who install and own a photovoltaic system at their homes in Hingham, MA. The HMLP will rebate $1000/kW x the rated output of the system or $3000, whichever is less.

Would you like your residential solar system to pay for itself within three years? The Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant has been offering financial assistance to their residential customers who want to install a solar array on their property. Projects up to 2.5KW are eligible for a rebate of $4.00 per watt installed, up to a maximum of $10,000.

We are one of the very few PV installers to have the owner obtain a NABCEP certification. The NABCEP PV installer certification requires the solar professional to undergo a series of tests and commits them to uphold professional and ehtical standards.

  • 23May TD Bank Opens Net-Zero Branch, Powered 100% by On-Site Solar

The U.S. DOE defines a net-zero energy building (NZEB) as a residential or commercial building that produces in a year at least as much renewable power as the total energy it uses.

The new TD Bank store will require approximately 97,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity a year to operate, but the company says its 400 solar panels will produce a minimum of 100,000 kWh a year on site. Only eight buildings in the nation are registered as NZEBs with the DOE, and TD Bank will be the first to register a net-zero energy commercial bank.

  • 18May Massachusetts Urges Solar Through Education

In April, 2007 Massachusetts’ Governor Deval Patrick laid out a 10-year goal for the commonwealth to adopt 250 megawatts worth of solar power installations by 2017. With just under 6 years remaining until the deadline, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) has announced it is deploying a business model they call Solarize Massachusetts.  The model’s aim is to encourage residents and business owners to adopt solar photovoltaic (PV) technology and it will begin with four pilot communities that include Harvard, Hatfield, Scituate and Winchestere.”
